The Department of Plant and soil Sciences in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment works towards developing sustainable food and crop production practices in Kentucky. This is seeking a Research Analyst for the Moe Research laboratory. To view what we are currently working on you can follow this link http://moelab.weebly.com/. We are broadly interested in the biology and biochemistry of microbes and microbial communities in soil and associated with plants. Our aim is to understand the basic biology underlying bacterial processes and to apply this knowledge to issues in agriculture and biotechnology.
The Research Analyst will conduct research related to genetics, genomics and metagenomics of microbes involved in essential soil biological processes and plant-microbe communication. Work with undergraduates and graduate students on research projects, educate less experienced lab workers on research techniques and lab safety.
